Private Hugh McLeod

4th Seaforth Highlanders

Hugh MacLeod was born in Creich but in 1911 he was living in Mill House Edderton with his widowed mother Sally, sisters Annie Jane, Mary Isabelle and brothers James and David Alexander. He worked as a gamekeeper.

Hugh enlisted in the 4th Seaforth Highlanders and was given the number 3424 but later changed to 266351 of the 6th Battalion. 

He was killed in action on the 25th April 1917 as the Regiment were in the trenches at  the Chemical Works at Fampoux.
